Fitness exercises with the Olympic champion
Thomas Röhler shows you his top exercises for all body regions
Exercises to strengthen the basic areas of the body are always a good idea - now in late summer, as well as in autumn and winter. That's why we invited Olympic javelin throw champion Thomas Röhler to our photo studio to show you his favourite exercises for optimal strengthening of all regions of the body. We will continuously add more exercises to this series in the coming weeks and months. Take advantage of the pleasantly warm temperatures and start now with the thighs, arms and upper body.
High Knees
Legs up for the start
1. Stand with feet hip-width apart. Raise the left knee at a 90° angle to the chest while moving the right arm parallel upwards.
2. Put the leg down again and raise the right knee to the chest while moving the left arm upwards. Continue the movement alternating the legs.
3. When you have mastered the movement, you can increase the tempo.
Sports Ankle Support for High Knees
Our Ankle Support with its individually adjustable taping band and anatomical fit offers an even higher support compared to the Comression Akle Supprt. At the same time, it is light and durable - your ideal companion for this exercise.
Sports Compression Ankle Support for High Knees
A secure footing is the be-all and end-all for high knees. The Compression Ankle Support improves joint coordniation, assures secure footing and reduced the irisk of injury. It's knit is extremliy light and seamless.
Plank Taps
Persevere for a strong core
1. Start in a push-up position with your hands under your shoulders, legs extended behind you and feet shoulder-width apart. The body should form a straight line from your head through the shoulders, back, hips and legs.
2. Shift your weight to maintain balance and raise one hand to touch your opposite arm. Pause briefly and then return your hand to the mat.
3. Switch to the other side, raise your other hand to touch the opposite arm and then place it back on the mat. This completes one repetition. Focus on maintaining your form and activating your core with each movement.
4. Do 10-15 reps before resting, or set a timer to see how many you can do in a minute.
Sports Elbow Support for Plank Taps
Two anatomically contoured functional elements or “pads” protect the inside and outside of the elbow joint against pressure peaks. Together with the 3D Airknit, the Elbow Support offers even more support than the Compression Elbow Support.
Sports Compression Elbow Support for Plank Taps
Full concentration on the excercise! No problem - the thin, seamless compression knit promotes joint awareness, improves joint coordination and thus reduces risk of injury.
Stay tuned! In the coming weeks, here are more exercises from Thomas Röhler and his fiancée Lucia Schauerhammer to join in and stay fit.
